Dr Nathalie Beatrice
Dr Chinje is the Founder & CEO of Upbeat Marketing Pty Ltd, a strategic Brand, marketing communication consultancy that work with oranisations that have a pan-African vision. She currently consults to the African Development Bank (AfDB) on private sector development in Africa. She works on the Fund for African Private Sector Assistance (FAPA)
- a multi-donor fund consisting of these donors: The Government of Japan, Government of Austria, and AfDB.As a Technical Consultant, she has, in the past 18 months, processed and provided expert guidance on Technical Assistance (TA) projects exceeding USD 30 million.
Dr Chinje has over 20 years experience in the private sector in Africa as a Corporate Employee holding management positions in Johannesburg Stock Exchange Listed blue-chip companies and as an independent Consultant. She also worked for one of the top 4 global management consulting firms.
Dr Chinje has provided advisory services to and has also designed, spearheaded, coordinated and facilitated training programs for reputable academic institutions such as Wits Business School (Where she was a Senior Lecturer on its postgraduate and customized programs) and Wits Centre for Entrepreneurship; Duke Corporate Education (affiliated with Duke University in Durham, USA); and the China Europe International Business School (CEIBS - Africa) where she is a Visiting Associate Professor and has delivered training and capacity building interventions in Ghana, Nigeria, Zambia and Cameroon. Additionally, she has designed and facilitated training programs for the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) targeting energy policymakers, implementers and the private sector in Ghana, Kenya, Mauritius, Senegal, Tanzania, and Swaziland.
Dr Chinje has a blend of solid business and academic skills. She holds a PhD in Business Management from Wits Business School in South Africa, and spent a year as a PhD visiting scholar at the Hautes Écoles Commerciales (HEC-Montreal) in Canada and Stern School of Business at New York University (NYU) in the USA. She also graduated from the
University of Stellenbosch business school in Cape Town South Africa with a Master of Business Administration (MBA) Degree. She is a Chartered Marketer and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) Degree from the Institute of Marketing Management (IMM).
Dr Chinje is a member of the Advocacy and Communications Committee, of the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) Board. SAQA is a statutory body mandated by the South African Legislation to oversee and implement the National Qualification Framework (NQF).
Dr Chinje is a recipient of the 2017 Global Business Leadership Award (awarded on 21 Sept.17 in NYC - USA) and a finalist for 2017 New African Woman Award – Business Category by New African Woman and IC Publications (UK).
Dr Chinje is an Expert for the African Union Commission (AUC) and the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA).
Dr Chinje has a deep knowledge of African countries and is fluent in both French and English.
